If the Snowy Mountains scheme on the east coast, diverting waters westward can be achieved decades ago, then why can't the Queensland coastal rivers also be diverted westward?
Yes there is a mountain range to traverse, but as with the Snowy Mountain Scheme, tunnels were excavated, so why can't it be done in Queensland with federal government money?
The climate has changed, and the next big water diversion scheme needs to be implemented without delay. The Murray Darling system needs it to survive.
