This morning on ABC 891 radio, a spokesmand from Transport SA agreed that 50 "significant" trees had been felled for the tram extension to the Entertainment Centre.
On further questioning, the spokesman said over 500 "trees and shrubs" have been removed ........... and that's not yet the final total.
It now turns out that the felled trees are for road widening, and the actual tram will travel down the middle of Port Road.
That means yet another few dozen trees will go. The beautiful Plane trees that currently adorn the centre of Port Road at Thebarton soon to be more firewood.
Vandalism of the first degree? Yes!
